Continuing the legacy: iRAD 2026 at Gauhati University
The 8th International Radar Conference (iRAD 2026) will be hosted by Gauhati University, Assam, from 07–09 January 2026. Upholding its rich tradition, iRAD 2026 aims to bring together radar scientists, engineers and operational meteorologists from around the world to advance innovations in radar technology, atmospheric research, weather forecasting and disaster resilience.
The journey so far
Since its inception, the International Radar Conference (iRAD) has grown into one of India’s most significant scientific platforms in radar meteorology and atmospheric sciences. Each edition has played a vital role in driving progress in radar instrumentation, data assimilation and the operational use of radar observations for weather and climate research.
Over the years, iRAD has fostered a vibrant and collaborative community of scientists, researchers and professionals spanning academia, research organizations, government institutions and the operational meteorological sector. The conference continues to serve as a bridge between research and real-world applications, inspiring innovation and collaboration in radar-based atmospheric studies.
